Sharon Mendes Mays Jacks

Greetings, I’m Sharon Mendes Mays Jacks and excited to run for Tantallon Citizens Association’s (TCA) Corresponding Secretary position. We have lived in beautiful Tantallon since 2001 and have raised our family here.  I retired from the Federal Government in 2015 after 26 years of service. I volunteer/ed on civic, community, youth and social organizations and serve/d on boards and committees.  We have been members of the Tantallon Country and National Golf Clubs for a long time and have been active members of the TCA for many years.  I currently serve on the TCA Board of Directors (one term) as Corresponding Secretary and also serve/d as Chairperson of Membership, and Co-Chair the Hospitality Committees.  I’ve collaborated with the Club to co-host youth, family and adult community events, welcomed and transitioned new neighbors/families and actively engage residents in a positive and inclusive manner. I recruit and encourage community involvement while learning and embracing our residents, many of whom represent various cultures from all parts of the globe, while celebrating our differences.  As Corresponding Secretary I want to help prepare us for an even stronger future. I would continue to do it with respect based on facts. Thank you for allowing me to serve as your Corresponding Secretary during my 2021-2023 term, it has been an honor.
